People are concerned about the risks of super smart AI, like it falling into the wrong hands or doing things that harm us. Some even imagine scenarios, like the famous sample story of the Paperclip maximizer. In this example the super-intelligent AI has the task to produce as many paper clips as possible. The goals of this AI may then come into conflict with those of humanity as both entities compete for the same resources. To accomplish its task, the AI might decide to eliminate humanity.
